What anxious depression means

Anxious depression describes major depressive disorder accompanied by anxiety symptoms. It is different from having a primary anxiety disorder without major depression. That distinction matters for diagnosis, treatment selection, and insurance documentation.

What the clearance applies to

The BrainsWay indication includes treating depressive episodes and reducing associated anxiety symptoms in appropriate adults with major depressive disorder who have not improved enough with antidepressant treatment. It does not create a blanket clearance for all anxiety disorders.

What this means for your consultation

Dr. Drell reviews your full symptom pattern, previous treatments, and safety screening. The office checks benefits for the proposed treatment. Improvement can vary, and a clearance or diagnosis alone does not guarantee response or payment.
